HOW TO RUN HP COLORADO WINDOWS BACK-UP:

FIRST: Logout of all UBS Work Stations and all other computers are not in UBS.

SECOND: Make sure all computers REMAIN OUT of UBS. (including those in Matt's office).

THRID: Find Oldest tape from drawer and put today's date on it, and put in tape slot.

NOW STARTING FROM WINDOWS:

Double click on the "Backup" icon in the "Applications" group.

From the Menu Bar at the top of the screen select "OPTIONS" then "PROGRAM OPTIONS" and make sure the Compression is set at "MAXIMUM", then go back to the "Backup Screen".

When "Backup" screen appears, click once on the "BACKUP" button.

In the "METHOD" section, down arrow to "INCREMENTAL BACKUP, APPEND TO TAPE", and click on it.

Then Select "BACKUP FROM" section then use the down arrow to get to drive Z:.

Then click on Z: drive once. (IT WILL THEN HAVE A GRAY BOX AROUND IT).

Then click on the "SELECT FILES FOR BACKUP" button.

Use the down arrow to get to the "UBS" directory.

Then click on the "UBS" directory once. (IT WILL THEN HAVE A GRAY BOX AROUND IT).

Then click on "FILE" on the menu bar at the top of the screen.

Then click on "SELECT FILES".

Then click on "ALL". (THIS WILL SELECT ALL FILES IN THE DIRECTORY).

Now click on the "G0 BACK" button.

Then click on "START BACKUP" button once.

Type in "UBS" and the days date for the description. (DON'T WORRY ABOUT PASSWORD).

Then click on "OK".

If "TAPE DIRECTORY" screen appears, then click on "ERASE".

If "TAPE EMPTY" screen appears, then click on "OK".

At this point the backup will begin, continue with closing work and anything else which wasn't completed.

REMINDER: All computers must remain out of UBS as long as Backup is running.

HOW TO RUN MTN-TAPE BACK-UP:

FIRST: Make sure all computers are out of UBS. (including those in Matt's Office)

NEXT: Find Oldest tape from drawer and put todays date on it, put it in tape slot.

NOW STARTING FROM WINDOWS:

Hit [alt] + [f4]

Then Hit [enter] keys

The Screen Will Now Read

c:\WINDOWS>

TYPE: z: [enter]

THEN TYPE: cd\MTN_TAPE [enter]

The Screen Should Now Read

z:\MTN_TAPE>

TYPE: tape [enter]

You will now hit [enter] to verify that the date on screen is correct.

HIT [ENTER] for BACK-UP

HIT [ENTER] to SELECT files

HIT [S] to SELECT files

Screen Should look like this:

\MTN_TAPE

THEN HIT [back arrow] to DELETE MTN_TAPE

Now type in

UBS

Screen Will Look Like This:

\UBS

HIT [enter] then wait until screen changes

Now Hit [F9] to TAG SUB

Hit [b] to select back-up files

Hit [f] Then put in yesterdays date.

Hit [enter] three times you should hear tape go.

There are two error messages you may get:

1) All info on tape will be erased, do/want to cont. HIT [y] for yes

2) Will ask you to select 1, 2, or 3, HIT [1]

At This Point The Back-Up Will Begin, Continue With Closing Work And Anything Else Which Wasn't Completed.

REMEMBER: All computers must remain out of UBS as long as Back-Up is Running.
