HOW TO DOWN THE SSV_1(Novell) SERVER
TURN OFF ALL COMPUTERS:
- Go to each Computer/Workstation $50 out of UBS or SELECT FILE / EXIT / OK
- At the >A: or >C: Prompt TYPE LO to logout.
- turn off the power plugstrip
- OR TURN OFF the power switch on the Computer and Monitor
- Call upstairs, have them LOGOUT AND POWER DOWN all computers.
GO TO SERVER in MANAGER'S OFFICE:
At the Keyboard under the CCTV Monitors:
- PRESS the ALT-ESCP KEYS at the same time (this will place the server monitor screen at the >F:\SYS Prompt)
- TYPE the word DOWN and press the ENTER KEY
- It will as if your sure HIT - YES
- WATCH the Server Monitor, it will DISMOUNT the SYSTEM VOLUME and VOLUME's 1-8
- Once all Volumes are Dismounted the Server Monitor will say TO REBOOT TYPE EXIT
- Once you see the TYPE EXIT MESSAGE THEN and ONLY THEN
- TURN THE RED POWER SWITCH OFF then COUNT TO TEN - TURN THE POWER SWITCH BACK ON to bring the system back up.
- WATCH the Server Monitor, it will MOUNT the SYSTEM VOLUME and each VOLUME 1-8
- If the Server Monitor does not show the Printer Status Screen then PRESS ESCP
- Once all Volumes are mounted then go up front and POWER ON each Workstation
- After your counter Workstations are up and running CALL UPSTAIRS them they can power up their Workstations, also the Processing Room.

RUN FSCAN
- type Z:
- type CD\UBS
- type BTR (to run BTRIEVEN)
- type FSCAN LATES.DAT (or the correct file name)
- if keyX=error THEN THE FILE NEEDS REBUILDING, GO TO COPY FILES
COPY FILES
- IN WINDOWS IN MANAGER'S OFFICE
- In Group PCTOOLS select the File Cabinet Icon, double click and a Window with the Directory Tree will come up.
- Single click on Z: Drive
- Double click on the I: Drive, a second Directory Tree Window will come up.
- Double click on I:\BACKUPS
- Double click on I:\BACKUPS\UBS-ARCH
- Double click on I:\BACKUPS\UBS-ARCH\ONE
- Check the date on each file of the same name in sub-directory ONE and TWO and THREE, you want to copy the file(s) the directory with the oldest date.

WARNING COPYING IS DANGEREOUS IF YOU COPY THE FILE THE WRONG WAY ... BE SURE YOU ARE COPYING FROM Z: TO I:

- SELECT THE FILE TO COPY ON THE Z: DRIVE i.e LATES.DAT ... press and hold the left mouse button and drag the file to I:\UBS-ARCH\ONE (or TWO or THREE)
